Simple Steps To A Local Friendly Site:
Have your physical location on every page of your site.
Have your local phone number on every page of your site.
Give your physical address extra prominence on your “Contact
Us” page.
Create a page on your site called “Directions / Location”.
If possible, link to Google Maps and Yahoo Maps on your Location/Directions
page.
When possible, include your actual location in your page Titles.
Somewhere on your site, list all the cities / towns your business
covers.
Within the past year, the race has been to integrate a plethora
of advanced features into local search capabilities
and Google Local is leading the pack! This is perhaps one of the
most important new directories to be listed in and ESWD will list
your site with Google Local at no charge after your site is launched.
Within two weeks from submitting your listing, Google will send
a letter (containing your unique personal identification number
and activation instructions) to your company mailing address for
verification. Please contact ESWD with the unique PIN # specified
in the letter so that we may activate your listing. Your
listing will not appear until you complete this validation process.
If the letter does not arrive to you within two weeks, please let
us know so that we may request a duplicate letter be mailed out. You may also choose to list
your site on your own by logging on to http://local.google.com and
creating an account.
